(4 months/good head control - toddler)This is a great way to carry an older baby as it allows your hip to help bear their weight.

| 1. Rotate the sling so that the seam is on the side where your baby will sit. Spread the fabric out at the seam so that the padded inner rail is lower than the top rail, creating a seat for baby. | 2. Face baby towards you and put them over your shoulder. | 3. Lower baby's bum into the sling where the seam is. |

| 4. Pull the top rail up over their shoulders or under their arms. | 5. Slide baby around onto your hip to where you feel comfortable. Check that the bottom rail is just behind their knees and that their thighs and bum are well supported by the fabric. |
Back carry
(12 months and up)
The back carry is so much fun! Basically, you start with the hip carry, and rotate baby around to your back by lifting his bottom slightly to take the weight off the sling. This is best done with a cooperative child having good back control. In this picture, Romero is 10 months and almost strong enough to walk.
1. Put baby in the hip carry securely.2. Carefully slide baby around to your back so their legs are swaddling your waist.
3. If you're not sure whether baby's comfortable, check your work in the mirror. Slide them back around to the side/front if they start fussing.
