| 1. With the Mei Tai body at the front, tie the waist (the shorter ones) straps onto your waist using a double knot. They should be nice and snug as they will be taking most of the weight. | 2. Pick baby up facing you and lower baby to just above the carrier with their legs tucked in front of them or crossed. | 3. Pick up the top of the Mei Tai with one hand and pull it up over baby's back while holding baby in with the other hand. Throw the shoulder straps over your shoulders and bring the straps to the front making sure that they're not twisted. | 4. Tie the shoulder straps behind baby's back. |

| 5. Pull up the straps of the sleeping hood. | 6a. For a sleeping baby who doesn't want to look around, simply bring the thinner straps under the shoulder straps. This doubles as a sun-shade. | 6b. For head support if baby is awake and wants to look around, fold the hood in half horizontally and wrap the thinner straps around the shoulder straps a few times to secure. |
