| 1. Baby can be standing or sitting for this step. With the shoulder straps at the top, place the Mei Tai body behind baby's body and bring the straps through under baby's arms, one on each side. Ensure that the Mei Tai is wrapped tightly around baby. | 2. Holding both shoulder straps together close to baby's chest, swing baby over your shoulders and onto your back. | 3. Holding the straps tightly, bend forwad to let baby rest on your back. Take one of the shoulder straps and slide it across to your other shoulder so that you have one on each shoulder. Hold both shoulder straps tightly between your knees. |

| 4. Reach behind you and bring the waist straps through under baby's legs. Check that the Mei Tai body is under baby's bottom creating a seat. Continue holding onto the straps between your knees while you tie the waist straps. | 5. Grab the shoulder straps and pull while you bounce gently to get baby seated in the fabric, high on your back and snug against your body. Cross the shoulder straps at front or bring them under your arms to the back. | 6. Either tie under baby's bottom or if you have enough strap length, cross and twist once under baby's bottom and tie them in front. |
