Mei Tai Back carry

The back carry is fun and impressive once you have mastered it. Give it a go!

1. With the Mei Tai body at the back, tie the waist (the shorter ones) straps onto your waist using two knots. They should be nice and snug as they will be taking most of the weight. 2. Now put baby on your back. This should be done over the couch or a bed until you're confident with back carries. Pick baby up and hold him under his arms on your side. 3. Bend over and slide baby onto your back keeping a firm hold on baby's bottom and under one of his arms.
4. Still bent over, you can choose to leave baby's arms out over the shoulder straps or under them. To put them under, just hold one strap tight, pull the other strap down and bring it over baby's shoulder. Do the same with the other side. Pull the straps up tight, do a few little bounces to get baby further into the fabric. 5. There are two ways you can tie the shoulder straps: crossed in front or backpack style under your arms. Experiment with both and see which one you find more comfortable since each style distributes the weight differently. 6. The shoudler straps can be tied under baby's bottom or crossed and brought back to the front and tied. You can bring the straps back under or over baby's legs before you tie them.
